I am excited and honored to be on this journey with you. You’re here; I’m typing. We’re together.
Yes, I wrote the book Your Story Matters. It’s about me and the people I knew and those who made me. However, I had you in mind all along.
Your Story Matters.
Remember an intro to an old TV show that began with this tagline: “There are a million stories in the naked city.” I was a kid. I don’t remember the stores, but I remember that line. And I KNOW that your story is one of the important ones.
You can publish it or not but write it.
I’m not talking about the “Isn’t it awful” stories that most people become tired of hearing. I’m talking about evaluating your life, honoring the good times and bad, and releasing the people and yourself.
First, do the prep work.
You will feel a whole lot better after you’ve done it. Write out the junk for yourself alone and don’t show it to anybody.
I share a story in the book regarding my father whom I hadn’t seen for 38 years.
I wrote a page of angry rants complaining that he didn’t keep in touch with me after my parent’s divorce. He didn’t care about me. He was silent. He didn’t love me. He seemed like a nice man, but he left for the war, and I only saw him once after that.
And surprise—within a short time—I didn’t see this coming— I was going to Chicago. Earlier, I commented that I would look up my dad if I were ever in Chicago. The surprise was that my husband was being sent to Chicago on a business trip. I decided to go along.
I looked up my dad, and we stayed connected until he left this mortal realm.
In Your Story Matters, I’m trying to pound home the point that magic can happen when we clear out the mind junk.
Your writing will complete what’s past and allow you to live the most awesome life possible.
I’m giving you an example, my story, read it for motivation, then go for your own.
Thank you for being a reader. I appreciate you.
