Mugs for Remembering

Updated: Nov 5

This week I read a story about a young woman whose father had recently passed away.

She had only two minutes to say Goodbye to him, and no privacy.

Months followed where she begged God to let her know he was ok.

On the day before Father's Day she walked into a store and saw a mug that said "Super Dad." She fought back tears and bought it. The following morning, she used his cup, sat on the porch and felt a bit of lightness remembering his jokes and laughter. Now she reaches for "Super Dad" most mornings and shares her coffee with him.

Our pets, too, pass away all too soon, and we grieve bitterly. I have a little statue of Silver, my childhood dog, and Peaches, my little poodle, and Gabe my rottweiler. All have wings. but since you know how your pet wants whatever is on your plate or in your mug, a mug in their name could be a sweet remembrance. Every desk should hold a mug, for a good hot drink, to hold pencils, pens, paint brushes, business cards, or simply for decoration.

If having a mug to remember your pet helps you remember good times, not sad, order a mug. You can have your pet's picture or a silhouette with wings.

Find a cup you like, and I will add their name on it, or you can send me a picture and I will have it applied to a cup. I smile when looking at my Beloved Licorice mug. Her purpose in life was to love and be loved.I am blessed to have her for a time.

There is a chapter in Your Story Matters, Living your most awesome life, about the time we left Licorice with a pet-sitter and she escaped into the city of San Diego and we found her after three days alone in the city. I'm still taking deep breaths over that one.

Don't forget the kitty cats.
